The French journal Le Monde published a somewhat interesting [article about Lemmings](http://www.lemonde.fr/web/article/0,1-0@2-3244,36-340992,0.html

Interestingly, a group of European scientists just proved that this is completely false (Science, Oct. 31th). For 15 years they have studied lemmings (now that's dedication!), and managed to build a mathematical model that shows how the lemming natural predators are enough to regulate the lemmings population.

The bottom line, lemmings don't want to die after all, they don't throw themselves off cliffs at all, it was all a made up lie.
